Press Launch for Blu-ray Drive & Media

System Networking Department had organized a Press Seminar for various IT Media and Magazines to launch the Panasonic Blu-ray Drive and Media. Held on 8 January 2007 at the Millenium Room it was officiated by MD, Mr H Nakamura and BSD Top Management.

The objective of this Press seminar was to present the technology of Blu-ray and the applications it serves, together with the key features and benefits which differentiate itself from other forms of media storage. Taking this opportunity, demonstration was conducted to show applications such as playback of HD movies, and soft-ware applications for CCTV solutions such as capturing, authoring, editing and burning data purposes. The highlight of the demonstration was backing up the whole entire systems with its large recording capacity of 50GB and a high data transfer speed of 72Mbps; a plus point in the recording industry.

Members of the media gained valuable information and experience from the seminar especially after the demonstration and the Q&A session. The Panasonic Blu-ray Drive and Media managed to amaze them with its world’s first dual-layer 50GB technology where it can store up to 195,000 still images, approximately 11,000 music files and 9 hours of high definition (HD) viewing video pleasure in a single disc. This saves money and promotes data management efficiency.
