KWN (Kid Witness News) is a global video education programme supported by Panasonic. The aim is to boost creativity and communication skills while fostering teamwork through video production by children at primary and secondary school levels. More than 130,000 children around the world have participated in the KWN programme since its inception in the U.S. in 1989.
In May 2011, the annual KWN Training Camp played host to participants from 35 schools around Malaysia. All 105 of them, comprising students and their accompanying teachers, received intensive training over the 5-day course.
They were taught the essentials of video production, given hands-on opportunity to handle semi-pro cameras provided by Panasonic, and at the end of the programme, worked as teams to produce two short duration assignments.
