More than 80 years ago – in 1929 to be precise – our Panasonic founder Tan Sri Konosuke Matsushita made this declaration of his basic management philosophy.
"Recognising our responsibilities as industrialists, we will devote ourselves to the progress and development of society and the well-being of people through our business activities, thereby enhancing the quality of life throughout the world."
This fundamental belief was later expanded into a set of principles to guide his employees' mental attitude, at the core of which was pushing more responsibility down through the hierarchy. To this day, this set of values remains the point of reference throughout Panasonic offices around the world.
In February of 1979, Konosuke Matsushita was honoured by the Malaysian Federal Government and was awarded the Panglima Mangku Negara which carried the title of 'Tan Sri'.
